We loved our dinner at Peter Shields. The atmosphere was very relaxing, formal yet cozy. I had the lobster bisque and sea bass. Both were wonderful. I loved the presentation of the lobster bisque. The sea bass was cooked so delicately and served with great truffled risotto and a little frizzy salad that went perfectly with succulent fish. The pianist was excellent. There is a card on the table that you can request songs to be played. My husband had the pianist play our wedding dance song. I just loved it. Perfect date night restaurant.
Been dining at PSI a few times per year over the last few years and while it’s consistently a phenomenal experience, our most recent visit drove me to this review. The ambiance, the pianist, the new bar/cocktail menu, etc is perfectly composed - a top notch spot for a nice evening out. However, our server, Peter, was the highlight of our most recent visit. An absolute pro, taking obvious pride in his job. His genuine and attentive demeanor made it feel as though we were his sole focus/table. Simultaneously, as hands on as he was, he also perfectly faded into the scene, allowing us the rare opportunity of date night conversations (left the young ones home). And as always, the food was phenomenal. Great job all around at PSI.
Fantastic food, top-notch service, and a setting so charming it should come with its own rom-com. Every dish was a hit, and the staff made us feel like VIPs. Prices are a bit high—but hey, greatness rarely comes cheap (and neither does lobster). Worth every penny for a special night out! Thanks to out server - Peter
We had a wonderful time at Peter Shields Restaurant! The space is beautiful and the food & drinks were incredible. We especially loved the Pistachio Martini, Crab-Stuffed Artichokes, and the Short Rib Risotto. The service was also great! Highly recommend.
My husband and I came for dinner at the Peter Shields Inn. This was our first time dining here, and it was excellent. We sat indoors in the elegant yet relaxing front dining room. Our server was kind, knowledgable and attentive. For my entree, I ordered the sea bass en papillote which was outstanding. My husband had the rib chop with hotel butter which he said was perfectly cooked and absolutely delicious as well. This is our new favorite fine dining spot in Cape May. We did not stay at the Inn itself on this trip but are considering booking there for our next visit as it looks lovely and the location is so serene.
Exceptional experience! Food, wine, service was amazing! Loved having a sommelier to help pick out our wine. The piano player made for nice background music we really enjoyed. Can't wait to go back! Wow!!
The most elegant dining experience in Cape May. Brunch for Mothers Day pre fixe. Had the: Kale salad 1301 Burger Blueberry cobbler with lemon ice cream Food was great- Highly recommend.
Absolutely phenomenal! Chris was engaging, informative, and professional. The food was outstanding. This was our second time here, and it was 100% even better than the first. Already planning our next time. Can't wait to come back.
